Its Alcatel OmniPCX Office and OmniPCX Enterprise give enterprises the choice between IP-only and hybrid IP/TDM environments. On December 12, Anhui Telecom, a provincial subsidiary of China Telecom, said it had chosen Alcatel equipment to provide IP-based voice, video, and data services across Anhui Province. Alcatel made the sale through Alcatel Shanghai Bell, its Chinese subsidiary dating back decades. And on December 21, Jordan Telecom launched a DSL-based double play package of broadband Internet access and VoIP service using Alcatel’s product. The carrier expects to add video to the package for a triple-play offering in the near future.
